Imagine this… you've taken the day off work, a mid morning class is booked at that new yoga studio you've been dying to try, and this afternoon you're FINALLY going to get round to watching the Traitors final… yep, I don't know how you've lasted this long without finding out who won either.

But this isn't just any well-deserved self care day, this is the day everything changes for your business.

And this is exactly how it played out when I worked with my Website in One Day client 2 weeks ago.

The Spark Of A New Beginning

Emma spent the couple of weeks leading up to her design day following the prompts in her content workbook and gathering the images she wanted to include on her website. Once everything was uploaded to our shared Google Drive folder she let out a little sigh of relief, and felt the excitement start to bubble! Emma knew her content didn't have to be final and perfect, we just need something to get her website built - she could come back and tweak later.

Morning: Design Magic Begins

Our design day kicked off at 09:00 with a quick ‘Hello’ over Zoom and a virtual coffee cheers to getting started! Emma headed off to yoga and I got started with transforming a blank page into a new digital home for her business. Using the info and notes she had made in the content workbook I created a welcoming page that not only showcased her business and the services she offered, but most importantly felt like her.

Just after midday it was time for the big reveal! Emma received the preview link to her website ahead of our first review call…

*It's safe to say I think she was happy, and it was my turn to breathe a sigh of relief!

We jumped on our call and reviewed the home page, making any updates and revisions needed as we went. 30 minutes and a few excited air punches later, the home page was complete!

Afternoon: Bringing It All Together

After a little refuel, Emma got stuck into her TV series and I got stuck into building out the rest of her website pages. Now we had the overall design nailed down, the other pages came together quickly, and Emma was able to review each page from the comfort of her sofa as they became ready. Her website was starting to look and feel complete!

Late Afternoon: The Final Countdown

As we approached the last couple of hours of the day, the excitement really started to build. We hopped on our final review call to go through each page, making sure every link clicked, every image popped and every word made sense. I wish I'd have got a screenshot of the look of pride on Emmas face.

💫 Her business had an online home

😊 She could finally share her website, free from embarrassment and cringe (even getting the all important ‘dad approval’)!

Before going live I finalised the SEO settings, checked it all looked good on mobile and connected her domain.

Evening: Launch & Celebrate

At 17:00 the moment had come - the brand new website went LIVE! Time to celebrate!! Emma now had a website that not only looked stunning, but was set up to grow with her business. Our collaboration didn't end there though, I was back in Emmas inbox the following day with her post-launch support email featuring a bank of ‘how-to’ video tutorials, free resources and a reminder of her 14-day free email support.
