The Values Behind My Web Design Business

There are a lot of web designers out there. So when someone chooses to work with me, I don't take that lightly. I want the experience to feel as good as the end result, and that comes down to how I work, not just what I produce.

These are the five values that shape every single project.

Collaboration

I believe the best websites are built together.

You know your business inside out. You know who your clients are, what makes you different, and what you want people to feel when they land on your site. I know how to take all of that and turn it into something that actually works online.

Neither of us can do the other's job, which is exactly why the partnership matters. Every project I take on is a genuine collaboration, not me disappearing for a week and presenting you with something finished. Your input is what makes it good.

Mutual Trust

This one goes both ways.

You're trusting me with something that really matters: the online face of your business. That's not something I take lightly. When you hand over your vision, I work my absolute hardest to honour it. Not just to deliver something that looks nice, but to deliver something that genuinely represents you.

In return, I ask that you trust the process. The structure of how I work exists because it gets results. When both sides show up for each other, the whole thing just works.

Empowerment Over Dependency

I'm not interested in building websites that keep you reliant on me forever.

Once your site is live, you should be able to log in and make changes yourself, add a new page, update your prices, swap out a photo, without needing to call anyone or pay for hourly support you shouldn't need. Every client I work with walks away knowing how to use their website. Videos, walkthroughs, plain-English explanations: whatever it takes.

If you want ongoing support down the line, that's always available. But it should be a choice, not a necessity.

Approachability

Tech doesn't have to be scary, and working with a web designer shouldn't feel intimidating.

I keep things in plain language, I don't mind explaining the same thing twice, and there is genuinely no such thing as a stupid question in my world. If something doesn't make sense, say so. If you're not sure what you actually need, let's talk it through. That's what I'm here for.

(Kids on calls are absolutely welcome, by the way. Life is real and I'm not precious about it.)

Generosity

I give a lot, and I do it happily.

Whether that's time, knowledge, flexibility, or just being someone you can message when you're stuck, I want the experience of working with me to feel genuinely supportive. From the first conversation to well after your site goes live, I'm in your corner.

Not because I'm trying to upsell anything, but because I genuinely want to see your business do well. When your website works for you, that's the best possible outcome. That's the job.

These values aren't just words on a page for me. They're the reason I work the way I work, and the reason so many of my clients come back or refer friends. If they resonate with you, I'd love to chat.
