Website in a Day: How I Build Your Entire Squarespace Site in 8 Hours
"Your website could be done by 5pm" sounds like a bold claim until you understand why it actually works. Website in a Day isn't a stripped-back, rushed version of a proper website build. It's the same quality of work, just without the weeks of dead time most projects lose to gaps between calls, delayed feedback, and half-finished pages sitting untouched.
Here's exactly what that looks like in practice.
The thinking happens before the day starts
Every client works through a content workbook before we kickoff the design day. It's built to pull together everything your website actually needs to say, structured around your specific industry rather than a generic template. Clients often go into it expecting to ramble through some questions, and come out the other side with a genuinely clear picture of their own business.
It's a simple Google Doc, nothing more complicated than that. No software to learn, no logins to remember. You write directly into it, it autosaves as you go, and you dip in and out whenever you've got a spare ten minutes.
By the time design day rolls around, you already know what you want your website to say. That's what makes the day itself so smooth.
No wireframes, no mock-ups, no fake version of your site
Most web design processes include a mock-up stage, a flat image showing roughly what your site will look like before anyone actually builds it. I deliberately don't do this.
Designing a proper mock-up in something like Adobe XD takes longer than it does to just build the real website directly in Squarespace. If I spent that time on a fake version, I could have already built the actual thing instead. There's no reason to design a pretend version of your site when the platform is fast enough to build on directly, and it means every preview you see during the day is exactly how your website will actually look live, mobile version, animations, and all.
It also means we can tweak and revise things together in real time on the call, rather than waiting for another round of mock-up revisions before the real building even starts.
Why the tight timeframe is the whole point
Every website decision, platform, pages, layout, copy, photos, colours, fonts, contact form, footer, feels enormous when it's still sitting in your head all at once. Left unstructured, each one becomes its own rabbit hole.
A single day forces momentum. You make a call and move straight on to the next thing, instead of leaving days in between for doubt to creep back in. That's the real reason Website in a Day works so well. It's not about rushing, it's about removing every gap where a project usually stalls.
What you're left with
By the end of the day, you have a complete, live Squarespace website, not a plan for one. Clear navigation, confident calls to action, a site that actually reflects your business as it is now, and SEO groundwork built in from the start rather than added as an afterthought.
If you've been carrying an unfinished website project around for longer than you'd like to admit, this is usually the fastest way to finally get it off your plate.
