One Week Website vs Website in a Day: Which Squarespace Service Do You Need?

Well, here it is! I'm launching One Week Website and I'm genuinely buzzing about it!

Let me tell you the whole story of why this exists and who it's actually for, because it's not replacing Website in a Day (that's still my main thing and always will be). This is just for a specific type of client who needs something different.

Why I Created This

So over the past year or so, I kept having the same conversations with people. They'd reach out about Website in a Day, we'd chat, and they'd say something like "I love this but I need about 10 pages and loads of integrations" or "I'm in a different time zone so the one-day thing is tricky" or "my business has grown beyond the starter stage and I need something more strategic."

And I'd have to say sorry, that's not quite what Website in a Day is designed for. Which felt rubbish because I wanted to help them but didn't have the right service.

A lot of these were international clients or established business owners who'd outgrown their DIY websites and needed proper booking systems, membership platforms, e-commerce setups - all the technical stuff that takes more time to build properly.

So I created One Week Website specifically for them.

How It Actually Works

The process is more collaborative and spread out than Website in a Day, which means we've got breathing room to get everything right without feeling rushed.

Discovery: We start with a strategy call to align on your goals, what pages you need, any booking systems or integrations, and your branding foundations. This is where we map out the whole plan so we're both clear on what we're building.

Build & Collaboration: Over the week, I'm designing, refining, and building with regular feedback moments built in. We're working together throughout so the final site feels fully you, not just what I think you need.

Launch & Support: Once you're happy with everything, we go live. Then you get guidance and support to manage your site with confidence going forward.

You don't need to be available for the whole week. Just show up for our predetermined check-in calls and let me handle the rest. No need to hover over your laptop all week or feel like you're on call - I've got it covered between our scheduled catch-ups.

The Actual Difference

Website in a Day is perfect for getting you online fast with clarity and momentum when you're in those early business years. It's focused, it's efficient, and it works brilliantly for businesses that need to launch quickly.

One Week Website is for when you've moved beyond that stage. You need more pages, more strategic planning, more technical integrations, and more time to review everything properly. It's the same quality and attention to detail, just with more space to breathe.

I'm targeting this mainly at fitness studios and coaches because they tend to need class schedules, booking systems, membership setups - all the stuff that benefits from that extra planning time. But honestly if you're any service-based business that's outgrown your starter website, this would work for you.

Which Service Is Right for You?

Right, let's make this fun. Answer these questions honestly and we'll figure out which service suits where you're at right now.

A) Your business situation:
a) I'm in my first few years of business and need to get online ASAP
b) I've been running my business for 3+ years and have outgrown my current setup
c) Bit of both - established but still quite simple needs

B) Your website needs:
a) 5-7 pages maximum, pretty straightforward
b) 8-10+ pages with multiple services/programmes to showcase
c) I’m not sure how many I need

C) Technical integrations:
a) Just need a contact form and maybe a mailing list signup
b) Need booking systems, payment platforms, membership areas, class schedules
c) One or two integrations but nothing too complex

D) Your timeline:
a) I need this done yesterday, momentum is everything
b) I'd rather take a bit more time to get it strategically right
c) Quick is good but I don't want to rush important decisions

E) Your budget:
a) Want to keep costs reasonable, this is a big investment for me
b) Happy to invest more for something more comprehensive
c) Flexible depending on what I actually need

F) Review process preference:
a) Two scheduled calls with clear deadlines works perfectly for me
b) I'd prefer more ongoing communication throughout the build
c) Either works honestly

Results:

Mostly A's: Website in a Day is probably your sweet spot. You need to get online quickly with a professional website that does the job without overthinking it. Fast, focused, efficient.

Mostly B's: One Week Website sounds like exactly what you need. Your business has evolved beyond the basics and you need something more strategic with proper integrations and breathing room.

Mix of both: Let's have a chat! Drop me a message and we'll figure out which service actually fits where you're at. Sometimes it's not completely obvious and that's fine.

The Honest Bit

Website in a Day isn't going anywhere. It's still my main service, it's still what most people need, and I absolutely love doing them.

One Week Website is just an option for people at a different stage who need something bigger. That's it. Not better, not fancier, just different.

If you're reading this thinking you’re not sure which one you need - just reply to this email and we'll have a proper chat about what makes sense for your business right now.

And if you're thinking that neither of these applies to you - that's completely fine too! Not everyone needs a website right this second and I'm not going to pretend otherwise.
